Incorporating contemporary French decor into their 1970s Hong Kong apartment intrigued design enthusiasts Eric and Vivien Leigh, but the couple initially didn’t know how to express their taste. I didn’t know.
But when they discovered Inch’s YouTube channel. The interior design, whose signature style is Parisian chic, they found it to be the “je ne sais quoi” they were looking for.
“We wanted an aesthetic that was cozy, modern, and timeless. It wasn’t overly designed, but rather human-centered,” he says with his wife in early 2023. says Eric, a doctor who bought an apartment on the bay. The idea seemed like a perfect fit. ”
Most of the interior walls of a 700-square-foot apartment could be demolished, which isn’t always possible in new developments. That was “the fun part” for Minnie Han Jingzhen, the project’s lead designer. This means walls can be repositioned and new windows installed to take advantage of views of Victoria Harbour.
It also allows the space to be tailored to the couple’s lifestyle, particularly by reducing the original three bedrooms to two: a main bedroom with walk-in wardrobe and a home office/guest bedroom. I did.

Eric’s request for a tonal black and white palette also called for tasteful metal accents, along with other French-inspired details such as wood moldings on the furniture and dark wood floors laid in a herringbone pattern. It went well with the idea of Hun’s apartment. And the curve of the fireplace. Most of the furniture was custom-built to speak the same design language.
