I love going to the hair salon, whether it’s for a silk press, blow dry, or just a simple blow dry and straight. Like some people with curly hair (a mix of 3c and 4a to be exact), when you try to wash and style your hair at home, you find that you don’t get the same effect. So, you may have spent a lot of time and money finding the perfect hair tool to give you a salon-like effect at home, and you’ve finally found it.
Try the GHD Duet Blow Dry Brush (£379). It promises to “deliver a smooth, bouncy blow-dry with ease in the comfort of your home, using a unique aerodynamic system to avoid heat damage.” As someone who has been using too much heat on my hair for years, I was so excited to try this.

What makes the GHD Duet Blow Dry Brush different from other blow dry brushes?
The Duet Blow Dry Brush is the successor to the brand’s Duet Styler, which was launched in 2023. Unlike other blow-dry brushes, you can dry your hair in two different ways. First, it delivers hot air at a controlled temperature of 120℃, then heats the brush’s ceramic bristles to speed up the drying and styling process. This tool also claims to triple the volume of your hair and give it 50% shine. Also note that unlike other tools that recommend using on slightly damp hair after air-drying or towel-drying, this brush claims to be ready to use on wet hair. I was skeptical about this at first because using drying tools without drying my hair a bit often leaves a lot of frizz in my hair. So I wanted to test this out.
My review of the GHD Duet Blow Dry Brush:
After washing my hair with my usual Olaplex shampoo and conditioner, I immediately used a hot brush. Before blow drying my hair, I added a few drops of No7 hair oil. The first thing I noticed was that it was very loud, definitely louder than other hot brushes I’ve used. However, I quickly learned how easy it is to use.
I timed myself and it took me 12 minutes to fully dry and style my hair using the brush. This was much faster than regular drying tools. The usual. By the end of my hair routine, my hands were starting to hurt from holding the tools for so long, but this speeds up the process without compromising the results.
I was very impressed with how my hair looked and felt after using the hot brush. First, I actually dried my hair to smooth out the roots, which I found difficult with bulky hair drying tools. My hair was also smooth, voluminous and very shiny. Usually after using a hot brush, you use a straightener to remove excess frizz and apply more heat to your hair to make it even smoother, but with this tool you don’t need to do that at all did. Of course, it’s not as smooth as a real salon blowout, but considering the fact that it uses significantly less heat and takes just 12 minutes, I was very impressed.

My final thoughts:
At around £400, the GHD Blow Dry Brush is quite a bit more expensive than other hot brushes on the market, but if you can afford it then we highly recommend it. I feel like it gives me a smooth, glossy blowout without any heat damage like other tools. To be honest, I will continue to visit the salon for special occasions, but this is a tool I will use regularly.
Strong Points:
– easy to use
– It takes no time to dry and style your hair
– Unlike many other blow dry brushes, it dries the roots.
– Leaves hair smooth and shiny
– Suitable for all hair types due to snag-free bristles.
Cons:
– expensive
– quite noisy
– Difficult to clean

Outstanding review: “I have type 4 hair and this hair dryer has been on my list for a while. All the girls with coily hair rave about this, but… I can see why: you can get a great blow-dry look in minimal time.”
Babilis
perfect volume hair dryer brush
Temperature: 2 heating and cooling settings
Can it be used on wet hair?: Best for wet hair, not wet hair.
Standout review: “This alone takes a long time to dry, so I think it’s best to blast dry your hair first or let it air dry a bit. But this one does speedy styling and finishing at the same time. It’s a great tool for “time.” You can leave the brush at home and use it with one hand, even if you have limited mobility in both shoulders. It gets pretty hot after a while. I’m really glad I bought it, and I use it a lot. ”

Can it be used on wet hair? : Please use on slightly damp hair.
Outstanding review: “I’ve tried many styling brushes over the years. The cheap ones would break easily and damage my fine hair. This product is expensive, but very well made. The brush has a strong grip and gives you silky, voluminous, salon-like hair. It’s quite heavy, but I got used to it.I let my hair air dry a little before using it. If you don’t, it will take a long time to style your hair.

Standout review: “Very satisfied! Great job. My hair has never looked better. Just like when I went to the hair salon. Top salon quality and very easy to use. Easy. It looked big before I used it for the first time, but I got used to it quickly. I don’t care about the color (yellow and gray) because the results are perfect every time. Top. Bouncy, healthy and beautiful. (I have chin-length hair).
Amika
Blowout Babe Thermal Hairbrush
Temperature: 180℃ (1 setting)
Can it be used on wet hair?: No
Outstanding review: “I received the Amika Blow Out Babe brush. I’ve only used it once and I already love it. It’s so easy to use. My hair is in a short bob just below my chin and it gives me the most amazing blowout. I was actually able to create loose curls throughout my hair, and while it’s fine to leave the curls in, I was going for a very brushed, voluminous look. It’s a very easy to use tool and I’m honestly very happy to have it.”
mark hill
mark hill pink hot air blow dry brush
Temperature: 3 temperature settings
Can it be used on wet hair?: Yes
Standout review: “This two-in-one hot air brush goes from the idea of ”just lightly drying your hair with a hair dryer” to drying and styling your hair in a fraction of the time it takes to blow dry. Now it looks like this. Hair dryer and straightener. I wanted a new hot air brush because my previous (old) brush gave me a concussion every time I used it, but it was very heavy and the bristles were stiff and inflexible, so the Mark Hill product was the right choice. did! ”
