A new year of travel is just around the corner. If you’re planning an active and adventurous vacation for 2025, you have a growing number of options.
Exodus Adventure Travels recently released a list of next year’s top trending adventure destinations based on traveler feedback and data research.
As a result of that effort, Exodus experts say, “travelers are increasingly seeking immersive cultural experiences, active adventures, and lesser-known gems.”
With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at some of the adventure-oriented destinations travelers are eyeing next year.
Italy
According to Exodus, Europe’s diverse attractions and natural landscapes have made it a perennial favorite for adventure-minded explorers. And among the most popular travel destinations in Europe, Italy is the most popular. The country continues to be one of Exodus’ most popular small group tour destinations.
“Italy, known for its vibrant culture and diverse regions, attracts adventurers looking to explore everything from its famous coastline to its majestic mountain ranges,” says Exodus.
The company offers walking tours and premium trekking adventures in Italy.
Portugal
According to Exodus, Portugal’s diverse landscapes, rich history and culinary excellence make it a rising star for adventure travelers. Popular attractions include the cultural hotspots of Lisbon and Porto, and the sunny beaches of the Atlantic coast.
Adventurous travelers can also explore the hiking paradise of Madeira, Portugal, where Exodus offers walking tours.
France
One might think that France is already in the spotlight as a possible host for the 2024 Olympics. But travelers who want to explore areas outside of Paris may explore France’s Western Alps or the Loire Valley, both of which Exodus says will grow in popularity in 2025.
For example, Exodus’ hiking tour of the Western Alps offers the opportunity to experience Europe’s largest long-distance trail. If you’re looking for a different kind of adventure, consider a relaxing country getaway in the Loire Valley while exploring France’s wine regions.
baltic states
In line with the current trend for travelers to “cool vacation,” or vacation in destinations with cool temperatures, the Baltic states, with their stunning landscapes, ancient villages, and charming capitals, are a popular choice for adventure travelers. It has been proven that. Especially those interested in exploring the lesser-known regions of Northern Europe that offer a cooler climate.
“It’s still relatively unknown in the mainstream tourism industry, but it won’t stay that way for long,” says Exodus. Exodus offers walking tours through some of the hidden gems of the Baltics and Finland, where participants can visit ancient villages and walk along sandstone cliffs and lesser-known islands. Masu.
For even more adventure, consider a winter tour of the Baltics, Helsinki, and Stockholm, which takes in five European capitals.

Exodus offers a variety of adventure options in Costa Rica, including bike tours, family adventures, and wildlife retreats.
Cuba
Once largely inaccessible to U.S. travelers, Cuba has long charmed adventurers with its vibrant culture, rich history, and stunning landscapes.
Exodus Adventure Travels is reintroducing Cuba travel to U.S. citizens this year, offering a wide range of OFAC-compliant immersive itineraries.
“Travelers can experience everything from the charm of Havana to the rolling hills of Vinales. Each trip is designed to foster a deep and authentic connection to the Cuban way of life,” Exodus said. Masu.
