Hensel Toyota collects food at first annual Prius event
Hansel Toyota is joining a large-scale effort to collect pet food for dogs, cats, birds and other pets of homeless people, partnering with organizations that feed homeless pets in six locations across the country. We are hosting one of our monthly Prius filling events. A national nonprofit organization headquartered in Carson City, Nevada.
During the month of October, each location will attempt to fill Priuses with a variety of packaged pet foods to distribute locally. Donations will go to nearby shelters and service providers that support homeless people and their pets in and around Petaluma.
“We are excited to be a part of this important cause,” said Merrilee Alvarado of Hansel Auto Group. “Pets play an important role in the lives of people experiencing homelessness. We hope our community will help support these pets so no one goes hungry. ”
Acceptable donations include pet treats, canned and dry food, open food bags (secured with tape), and new and gently used collars, leashes, bowls, toys, beds, and crates. Includes:
