Reproduction Freedom For All today endorsed Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. Bob Casey’s reelection bid in a statement first shared with NBC News.
Mini Thimaraju, president of the nonprofit reproductive rights organization, said Casey’s “moment is now,” adding, “It’s a powerful reminder that action is needed to protect abortion rights and access nationwide.” I am aware of it.”
“As anti-abortion Republicans like David McCormick focus more than ever on a nationwide ban, we need Sen. Casey in the Senate to protect our rights.” Timaraju he said.
“Pennsylvanians are ready to vote their values again this November. And lawmakers across the state are ready to send Sen. Casey back to Washington and rally in their communities.” i am ready.”
Casey’s campaign accused Republican candidate McCormick of supporting “dangerous anti-choice policies.”
McCormick believes abortion laws should be left up to the states.
During last night’s second Pennsylvania Senate debate, Mr. McCormick and Mr. Casey were asked about their positions on reproductive rights.
“I think the people should decide, and that’s what happened in Pennsylvania,” McCormick said. “I think we have laws in Pennsylvania that people believe in and support, and I support them.”
A Pennsylvania law signed by Casey’s father, former Gov. Bob Casey Sr., allows abortions up to 24 weeks into a pregnancy, with exceptions during the mother’s lifetime.
During the debate, Casey said McCormick “does not support restoring Roe.” He does not support any means to do so, but the only means available at the moment is the Women’s Protection Act. And that’s a big difference in this race.”
