Meanwhile, in Truth Social…
The former president wrote on Truth Social this afternoon:
Kamala’s support among black voters is crumbling. Inflation is hell. To make matters worse, their cities are being used as illegal dumping grounds for foreigners. If Kamala is given four more years, the black community will lose its political power forever. Because most of the neighbors in black communities will be immigrants.
This sounds like a fear-mongering cliché, given Ms. Harris’ friendly appearance and her comprehensive and thoughtful answers to questions from the community.
Trump followed this up by posting:
Bloomberg interviewed me yesterday, and I hope you’ll listen to it. I’ve been saying for over a year that China is building a huge factory in Mexico. All work on those plants has stopped since they heard about the tariffs. I saved autoworkers in Michigan. If I win, Detroit will prosper!
Below is a fact check of specific statements made by CNN’s Daniel Dale in Chicago on Tuesday.
President Trump talked about how he saved American jobs with the threat of tariffs that forced John Deere to declare “yesterday” that it would kill plans to move some production to Mexico.
Except for the lack of yesterday’s declaration, Deere says that doesn’t ruin the plan.
And here’s Gustav Kilander’s report on some of President Trump’s controversial conversations with Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait.

Full text: Jack Smith says in latest election interference filing that Trump is responsible for January 6th
Smith said it was “not correct” for President Trump to claim he was not legally responsible for the attack, citing his long-standing indictment and evidence that the former president called his supporters to Washington, D.C. He said it was “clear” that he had collected them and directed them. They were set to march on the Capitol as part of a pressure campaign to overturn the 2020 election results.
Wednesday’s filing said he had his supporters “deliberately disrupt and attempt to disrupt” a joint session of Congress and gave his supporters “false hope” that Vice President Mike Pence would change the outcome. It is said that he gave it to
