With just a few days left until Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are doing everything from talking to popular podcasters to targeting voters who have voted for either party. He took an unlikely path in hopes of swaying undecided voters.
Mike Ford, founder and CEO of data analyst firm Skydeo, said he tracks how spending patterns have changed in the final days leading up to the election.
“In just the past two months, spending in battleground states has increased sixfold, so they’re trying to really penetrate that demographic,” Ford said.
Harris gave a rare interview with Fox News on Wednesday while Trump was appealing to Latino voters on Spanish TV station Univision. Ford said this is another way candidates are changing strategy and trying to appeal to people who voted for a wide range of parties in past elections.
“We’re collecting different data points and trying to find out who those people are. What we’re finding is millennials and Latino voters, Hispanic moms and dads, Muslim voters. , a wealthy mother,” Ford said. “And families with children under the age of 5. And those with the highest affinity for voting either way stood out among the floating voting population.”
Candidates are also taking the nontraditional route of opting for high-profile podcasts rather than sitting through the second presidential debate.
For example, Donald Trump met with Theo Von, Nerk Boys, Bassin with the Boys, and Logan Paul. Meanwhile, Harris has appeared on popular female podcasts such as Call Her Daddy, All the Smoke, and The Shade Room.
