First, Halloween isn’t a season, it’s “a lifestyle,” says Sarah Burton, a sales associate at Spirit Halloween.
Classic Halloween costumes “are classic for a reason and never go out of style,” Burton adds. “We have witches, vampires, and horror-themed people.”
“And inflatables have gotten huge over the past six years, and they just keep getting crazier. It’s a lot of fun,” Burton says.
Other costumes coming out this year are also on point, with the new Beetlejuice sequel and costumes inspired by all the other movies released this year, Beetlejuice will be in great shape in 2024. It will be popular.
This year also saw a ton of new animatronics added to the store’s terrifying inventory. “What we haven’t seen yet. It was a lot of fun.”
Barton said the store also received nearly twice as many home décor items such as signs, posters and accessories. “You can go out almost all year round.”
“They typically get promoted in those departments,” Barton says. “This year, it’s a little bit of everything.”
Spirit Halloween opened on August 1st at Exhibition Park’s main pavilion, but things got off to a slow start as a trickle of guests came to check out the event. “However, we will expand our hours as we progress,” Barton explained.
It’s supposed to be “ridiculously fun in the store” this weekend, as it’s the last weekend for ghouls and goblins to get their costumes until October 31st. And without a doubt, there are plenty of Halloween celebrations for people of all ages to enjoy.
The store expects to see a little more business, as other retailers seem to have limited Halloween selections. “What we’ve found is that Halloween doesn’t bring in as much stock as Christmas. Stocks are low to begin with, and as we get closer to Christmas and start putting out Christmas-related items, people start looking for things. . Therefore, as the day approaches, they will come to us more and more.
Burton said the new location was good. “We were a little bit unsure. I’m not completely sure if something was different. And having other events on the grounds helped as well. We were able to play with it. .”
“The building itself is the perfect size as it is large and spacious with plenty of space for us, which was nice. We didn’t have the difficulty of figuring out how to fit it into the existing space. It worked,” Barton says.
As for after Halloween, Burton said the store will be open Nov. 1 and 2. “And that’s probably all. But we’re going to have some sales, so we’ll close it out and get ready for next year.”
