Yanis & The Yo, the musical project born from a collaboration between Foals frontman Yanis Philippakis and the late legendary drummer Tony Allen, has announced three headline shows in the UK this December. .
The new dates follow the release of Giannis & The Yo’s debut EP, Lagos Paris London, which arrived in August, and also follow the band’s (confusingly) recent dates in Amsterdam, Paris, and London. It was held in the wake of a live performance.
This time, Giannis will be joined by “The Yo” Vincent Taurell (keys), Vincent Tager (drums), Dave Okumu (guitar, The Invisibles), Seyi Adelekan (bass, Gorillaz), Kit Monteith (percussion, Synth). – bringing their Afrobeats-inspired party to Manchester and Bristol before returning to the capital for a turn at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, the grand finale of Transgressive’s ongoing 20th anniversary celebrations.
