At UVA, students majoring in government or foreign affairs must meet specific course requirements, including 12 credits (3 credits each) across four subfields: American Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Political Theory. A nine-credit concentration is also required in either the AP track of American Politics, the PT track of Political Theory, or a combination of diplomacy majors. Students must also complete nine elective credits from courses in the Department of Political Science.
