River’s Edge Gallery owners Dawn Pettengill and Dennis Justice cordially invite the public to the grand opening of River’s Edge Gallery Two.
“Our first gallery has 59 artists on display and our second gallery already has 21 artists on display,” Pettengill said. “We continue to accept applications from artists for vacant spaces.”
River’s Edge Gallery Two’s grand opening is today, October 5th, at 12:30 p.m. The second gallery has a more rustic and masculine feel than River’s Edge One. The second gallery is located across the hall from the first gallery, along Scottsboro’s “The Square,” at 209 S. Market St, Ste 109, Scottsboro.
There is now an additional room in the new gallery and classroom space is being utilized. A watercolor painting class for beginners will be taught by artist Colleen Grillo on Oct. 19 at 4:30 p.m. “No experience is necessary for this class,” Grillo said. “The $65 fee covers all materials used, and each participant will be able to take home any leftover art supplies. We will be making greeting cards and botanical drawings.”
Grillo has a background in architectural design but loves the creative arts. She teaches art in the Jackson County School District. Space is limited for the October 19th class and there are still some spots available. Please register at 256-594-1025. River’s Edge Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
