Flexjet, a fractional provider of highly customized aircraft interiors as part of its LXi cabin collection, is awarding $100,000 to the winning designer of its next aircraft interior through its “Project LXi – Design the Ultimate Private Jet Interior” contest. I will award it.
Flexjet is looking to unearth “new inspiration, bold expression, and authentic artistry” to complement the approximately 50 custom interiors in its LXi Cabin Collection. Since 2015, our in-house craftsmen have been collaborating with aircraft manufacturers to create unique folding ottomans, pop-up kibitzer seats, custom divans and credenzas, and even purpose-built products designed to be equally practical and functional. We’ve created lounges and staterooms. Elegant.
Flexjet’s panel of judges will narrow down the entries to 10 semi-finalists, who will then be voted on by the public. From there, the top three companies with the most votes will present their designs to Flexjet Chairman Kenn Ricci at the company’s global headquarters in Cleveland. He selects the design that wins the grand prize.
“Beautiful design can completely change the experience. I’ve always enjoyed learning about design, whether it’s clothing, architecture, or aircraft,” Rich said. “For the Flexjet fleet, we created different themes, much like boutique hotels often do with their rooms. That’s what makes Flexjet unique. The interior design of each aircraft is interesting and It speaks volumes about our enthusiastic attention to detail.”
With Project LXi – Design the Ultimate Private Jet Interior, the theme is completely up to the designer. Inside an aircraft cabin, there are many elements that can be used to put together the story you want to tell to illustrate your theme, from carpet patterns to seat materials, colors and accents, veneer types, and sidewall colors and materials. there is. The Flexjet Gulfstream G650 is divided into four distinct zones: work, eat, sleep, and family room. Another important element is what designers call the interior. Flexjet interior names include the island-inspired Capris. Art Deco, inspired by the Roaring Twenties. Santa Fe is inspired by the American Southwest. and a crowd-favorite boardroom inspired by the 1999 film The Thomas Crown Affair.
Each year, Flexjet’s design team develops new interiors to keep pace with the company’s growing fleet of nearly 300 aircraft. In recent years, Flexjet has partnered with like-minded luxury brands for the interior design of its cabins. In 2022, Flexjet collaborated with Bentley Motor Cars to design the interiors of the Flexjet Gulfstream G650 and Sikorsky S-76 using Bentley Bacalar as the muse. These aircraft then embarked on a tour of the United States.
Earlier this year, Flexjet began a partnership with the Ferretti Group, which specializes in the design, construction and sale of luxury yachts and pleasure boats. This partnership will come to fruition with the new Flexjet Gulfstream G650 interior, inspired by Riva motoryachts, which will debut in 2025.
