Turkish shipyard Mengi Yay has released interior images of the first unit of its sub-500GT Serenissima I (S1) series. This follows her debut at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.
Designed by Italian firm Nuvolari Leonard, this 47.5-metre vessel features an elevator, a private owner’s deck and a spacious sundeck.
The S1 model features a steel hull and aluminum frame and is designed for both range and speed. Featuring a naval design by Dutch studio Van Oossanen Naval Architects, the yacht has a stable and efficient hull shape, giving her a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
“Her lines reflect a certain masculinity, with a strong, high bow and an unmistakable stern that features a transformer platform and water sports area,” says Nuvolari Leonard designer and co-founder. One Dan Leonard said. Feminine touches are included, from the sophisticated and elegant profile to the subdued interior design. ”
The interior was designed by the Nuvolari Leonard team, with “artistic direction” by Valentina Zagnier. Images reveal a warm, colorful aesthetic with textured wood panels and bronze details. Floor-to-ceiling windows also bring brightness to all living spaces.
The property has four cabins, two of which can be converted into VIP suites with a movable partition. The Owner’s Deck is located on the bridge deck and features an aft-facing suite, a private bathroom with ‘big views’ and a private terrace hidden under the sundeck overhang, making it versatile for all seasons.
According to the shipyard, the sundeck is “one of the largest of any yacht in this category” and includes a sunbathing area at the stern, a mini-pool with views towards the bow and a fully sheltered lounge area. This model also features a main saloon with balcony and wine cellar.
The beach club and cockpit are fully protected, the latter with sofa seating, a bar and a folding breakwater. A 2.6-ton telescoping crane has been installed that can load large-scale coal cars and automobiles. There’s also plenty of space to store your diving equipment, a 20-foot guest tender, two additional tenders, and a jet ski.
The S1 model is one of four recently released NL-branded superyachts, including the 52-metre NL 50 Plus model and two larger models known as the NL 60 Plus and NL 65 Plus.
Serenissima I is currently being sold in partnership with Northrop & Johnson and is one of the most expensive yachts in the world.
