CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne City Council on Monday sent a contract with the American Northern Rockies Volunteers worth $136,875 to the city’s Finance Committee for consideration, before returning to the next City Council meeting for final approval.
The action was taken as part of the council’s consent agenda.
Under the agreement, Volunteers of America Northern Rockies will provide social, non-medical alcohol and drug detoxification services. The funds will be provided to the Sheridan Alcohol Receiving Center, according to city documents.
ARC is a non-medical detox center that provides a safe and supportive environment for people who are intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. The center is staffed by trained professionals who can provide support and assistance to customers in carrying out the withdrawal process.
An agreement between the City of Cheyenne and Volunteers of America Northern Rockies will provide funding for ARC to continue its work next year. The contract is valued at $136,875 and, if approved, will be paid in a lump sum by January 15, 2025.
The alcohol pick-up center is located at 1876 S. Sheridan Ave. in Sheridan.
