Father John Misty has released his latest single ‘She Cleans’ from his upcoming album Mahashmashana (released November 22nd on Bella Union (UK/Europe) and Sub Pop (ROW)). Up” was released as a new song.
A commanding, groovy number, it follows the recently released tracks ‘I Guess Time Just Makes Fools Of Us All’ and the seven-minute epic ‘Screamland’, which featured guitar from Low’s Alan Sparhawk.
Mahashmashana, which takes its name from the Sanskrit word meaning “the great crematorium, to which all things turn”, marks FJM’s sixth studio LP and is a follow-up to 2022’s Chloë and The Next 20th Century. This will be the next work.
Additionally, to celebrate the new song, the enigmatic songwriter has also announced a 2025 headline tour. The band will kick off in Chattanooga, Tennessee on February 12th, play 13 shows across North America, and then head across the pond to tour Europe. and the British date.
