Eva Mendes talks about her biggest fear in parenting
Eva Mendes, known for keeping her family life private, recently shared her honest and vulnerable thoughts about parenting.
In an episode of “Parenting & You With Dr. Shefali,” Mendes spoke about his challenges and desire to break free from the habits he developed in his upbringing.
One of her biggest struggles is controlling her mood. “When they need me, I don’t scream… It’s not like a ‘mean’ scream, but that doesn’t matter. I scream,” Mendes admitted. She recognizes her Cuban heritage as a cultural influence on her parenting style. “Screaming, that’s the hardest thing for me.”
Mendez fears past patterns repeating, saying, “I hope in 20 years I don’t look back and say, ‘Oh, I got shot,’ but I don’t want my heart to grow up in fear…I think that’s important for kids. It’s not fair.” ”As we talked, I could feel her emotions welling up.
Mendez, who grew up surrounded by love and fear, wants to create a nurturing environment for her daughters Esmeralda and Amada.
“As a child, I was surrounded by love, but also an element of fear…I want to break that pattern.”
