Trying to make the right choices as a mother can be difficult, even if you’re as famous as Eva Mendes.
The actress got emotional during an appearance on Tuesday, Oct. 15’s episode of “Parenting & You With Dr. Shefali” as she admitted there’s one parenting habit she’s desperately trying to change.
Mendes, who has two daughters, Esmeralda Amada, 10, and Amada Lee, 8, with her partner Ryan Gosling, 43, accused her of “yelling” at their children. I mentioned it.
“I think one of the most difficult patterns for me is screaming, because I don’t scream when they need me,” Mendes, 50, said on the podcast. “I’m never a ‘shut up’ guy. It’s not a ‘mean’ scream, but it’s fine. I scream. And it’s this cry that I think is so cultural. ”

She added, “I have a hard time getting through it without yelling. Rushing and yelling, that’s the hardest thing for me.”
Mendez, who is from Cuba, said that although she grew up loved, her parents Eva Perez Suárez and Juan Carlos Mendez used “fear” to raise her.
Mendez seemed choked up, saying “fear” is something she doesn’t want to instill in her children.
“I hope in 20 years I don’t look back and think, ‘Oh, shoot me,’ because I don’t want to get scared and put my body up,” Mendez said. “That’s the problem. I’m sorry I got emotional. Because it’s so unfair to the kids. Fear puts pressure on them unknowingly, like I was raised with.” I hope you haven’t given it to me.

Mendes, who took a break from her Hollywood career to raise her and Gosling’s daughters, recently said she felt a “sense of loss” as her children reached middle school.
“I actually didn’t feel lost. I felt very refreshed,” Mendes said on The Drew Barrymore Show in September about her early days as a mother. “But I felt lost, if that makes sense. Then when it became like a cliché, I said, ‘Okay, so the kids can survive on their own. Who am I now?

she continued. “They’re only 8 and 10 years old, but you know what I mean, they don’t need me every second of the day. It’s just different.”

Meanwhile, Gosling confirmed in May that he would no longer take on any “darker” acting roles to avoid disrupting his family life, which includes Mendes and their daughters.
“I don’t really play roles that put me in a dark place,” Gosling told The Wall Street Journal at the time. “This moment is when I sit through the rooms of my house and think about what is best for all of us. The decisions I make are made with Eva and we put our families first in mind. I will make a decision.”
