BEAUMONT/JACKSONVILLE — Milton is expected to make landfall late Wednesday into early Thursday.
While the Floridians plan to leave, Entergy staff members from Texas have come to stay.
“So we actually left the Beaumont area around noon last Tuesday. We headed to Virginia to help with the power restoration efforts. We were there to help those restoration efforts be completed. “When Milton came, we learned that Florida State needed help,” Paul said. Mr. Blackburn is a customer service manager for the Entergy network in Beaumont and Dayton.
The stage is set in Jacksonville, just a few hours away from the expected location of the storm, and linemen are in the final stages of preparation.
Approximately 300 Entergy employees will assist Duke Electric in restoring power.
“If this company’s way of holding power and delivering power is maintained, all they have to do is put up the poles and put the power lines back up, right? So the majority of their customers will be back up within a few days, maybe a week. “It should be,” he says. Blackburn.
The crew plans to remain in Florida for as long as necessary to recover from the catastrophic damage caused by the massive storm.
