Palm Springs Tiki appears in new photo book
If you’ve ever visited Palm Springs, you’ve probably felt the oasis-like atmosphere it provides. The desert community embraces this concept by leaning into the fantasy of a Polynesian paradise, allowing visitors to visit bars, restaurants, and lounges with one theme: tiki. Now, a new book attempts to capture Palm Springs’ unique history as a tiki outpost through photographs, vintage postcards, and other ephemeral materials. Joining us on AirTalk today are the book’s co-authors, Sven Kirsten and Peter Moruzzi.
Peter and Sven will be discussing Palm Springs Tiki on Saturday, November 2nd from 5-6pm at WACKO, 4633 Hollywood Blvd.
