My skin is extremely sensitive and acne-prone, and there was a time when I was afraid to even say the word “oil” for fear of breaking out. After I avoided it for a long time, esthetician Katie Sobelman finally set me straight. She taught me that no matter your skin type, you need oil to keep your skin balanced, even if you’re already on the oily, acne-prone side. As long as you are using the right type of oil with the right acid balance, your skin will truly thrive. She explains this in a little more detail on her blog and I learned a lot. After reading her opinion, I feel much more comfortable using oils on my sensitive, acne-prone skin.
One oil that both my girlfriend and I really like is Le Prunier’s Plum Beauty Oil ($72). Speaking of this being one of the most hydrating, whitening and balancing oils on the market…this is truly my all-time favorite facial oil, but as a beauty editor, it’s not always easy to please me. there is no. If you want to know more about my experience with this face oil, keep scrolling. We share everything in advance.

If you’ve ever dealt with chronic acne, you know how difficult it is to maintain the perfect balance between keeping your pores clear and keeping your skin moisturized and hydrated. This oil is a classic oil that helps with both. Previously, my skin looked dull and dehydrated due to damage to the skin barrier. I also suffer from post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is a whole different beast that I have to deal with from time to time. But with the right retinoids and this face oil, I’ve seen a huge improvement in my skin.
First of all, the hydration this oil provides is unparalleled. I’ve used a lot of non-comedogenic oils and most of them leave me feeling dehydrated even after a few hours, but this one is different. My skin feels so soft, supple and bright. It can also help fade dark spots and relieve the tight, dry feeling that comes with dehydration of the skin. I can’t say too many good things about it. The photos above were taken every 3 weeks, so you can see that this oil is effective right away. It’s also great for my sensitive skin and doesn’t cause any breakouts. It truly is the perfect oil for me and will forever remain a non-negotiable item in my daily life.

Let’s take a look at what makes this single-ingredient oil so great. First, plum oil is rich in polyphenols, antioxidants, and omega fatty acids, which help lock in moisture and protect against environmental damage. Polyphenols also act as natural UV sunscreen boosters, making them a great addition to the brand’s SPF Plum Screen ($78). Vitamins A and E help heal and moisturize the skin while promoting cell turnover.
For other acne sufferers out there, this is very gentle on the skin and never causes breakouts for me. Everyone’s skin is different, but my skin tends to do better with single-ingredient oils, and if you have a similar skin type, this should work as well.

The brand’s co-founder, Alison Taylor, founded Le Prunier with her sisters Jacqueline and Hélène. Taylor says: “First and foremost, we were really inspired by growing up on a fourth-generation farm in Northern California. As teenagers, we traveled with our father on business trips throughout Asia and Europe. But then I realized how highly acclaimed umeboshi are.” Dried plums are a superfruit, but no one was thinking or looking at them from a skincare perspective. Therefore, we set out to innovate and change the plum fruit, which until now was considered waste. We realized that we needed to make better use of these antioxidant-rich byproducts, and after two and a half years of research and many brainstorming sessions with world-renowned research institutions, we finally We have decided to launch Plum Beauty Oil. 2018. ”
To be honest, I’m sure it’s not shocking that I wrote an article specifically about this oil. This oil has a cult following among editors. It can be used for a variety of purposes, including hair, skin, and nails. Taylor added: “For people with sensitive skin, this product could be a game-changer. Our unique blend of plum varieties is a single ingredient, so it’s very gentle on the skin. All of our products have just received the seal of approval from the US National Security Agency.” The Eczema Association is something we are really proud of! Plum Beauty Oil is 6x and 8x more powerful in protecting against hydroxyl radical damage (i.e. toxins, UV rays, etc.) than argan and marula oils . All of us have suffered from hormonal acne for years, so our goal was to create an elegant, nourishing oil that soothes and soothes the skin, while at the same time leaving an incredible glow. Plus, the natural scent of subtle marzipan is so unexpected and unique. people really like it. ”
Much like Taylor, what I love most about this brand’s products is that they are so versatile and easy to incorporate into any routine. In addition to the oil, I use this brand’s body cream and sunscreen, both of which receive equally glowing reviews from me. Taylor has some tips and tricks to help you get the most out of these products. “I love to cleanse in the morning and immediately apply Plum Screen SPF, which is a four-in-one primer, skin care, moisturizer, and SPF. It creates flawless skin. I use Plum Beauty Oil as a base for my makeup that day. Applying is always the last step in my night routine, and I layer on my thinnest serum first, then stop applying moisturizer and apply Plum Beauty Oil to really hydrate, especially during the winter months. My skin often feels itchy after shaving my legs, so I dry brush before showering and then apply a thick layer of Plum Body, which leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth for 24 hours. Masu.”
