Hundreds of people gathered for the 9th Annual Pet Extravaganza, hosted by Rescue Magazine.
This year’s event was held at the Cadence Bank Center in Belton.
This animal welfare organization focuses on providing food and supplies to local shelters, but is also known for hosting the largest pet adoption event in Central Texas.
“It’s not all about pet adoption, we also have educational events. We have wildlife exhibits, reptiles, microchips and more for your pet and your home.” Mr. Ducharme said.
With more than 400 pets up for adoption and more than 100 vendors participating, organizers told Neighborhood Reporter Madison Myers there’s something for everyone.
But one of the main things they’re trying to do is keep the community informed.
“So education is a really important part of our organization, because if we educate people about the proper care and types of animals, they will make better adoption decisions and the animals will ultimately Because we believe they will stay home,” Ducharme said. .
Community members had the opportunity to observe animals from dozens of shelters and shelters within the community while receiving an education.
And the best of all is watching your furry friend find a safe home – forever.
“It’s very tiring, but at the same time it’s exciting to see the animals find homes. We hope to find over 200 animals this year,” Ducharme said.
