DIY SOS star Nick Knowles is expected to be able to appear on tonight’s (October 12) live Strictly Come Dancing show despite a suspected injury.
The 62-year-old canceled last week’s Film Week-themed show after falling during rehearsals and sustaining a “pretty painful” knee injury.
The BBC spin-off It Takes Two will see Knowles and his professional partner Luba Mushtuk dance Film Week’s From Charleston to Rain on the Roof in Paddington 2 on this Saturday’s show. Announced.
Due to dance competition regulations, the pair had been given a walkover until this week.
Nick Knowles ‘really happy’ to be dancing this week
Knowles said in a video on I’m very grateful,” he added.
“When I signed up for Strictly, I never thought for a second that I would love dancing as much as I do now, and I just fell in love with it,” he said.
Knowles said she felt “very sad that I couldn’t be a part of” last week’s show, adding that she felt “missed not being able to be a part of it.”
A BBC spokesperson said: “We are all delighted that Nick Knowles and Ruba Mushtuk will be dancing on this Saturday’s show.
“Nick has been cleared by his medical and physical therapy teams to dance after his injury last week.
“Since they have time to train this week, they will be performing Rain on the Roof from Movie Week Charleston to Paddington 2.”
Last Friday, a post on Strictly’s official Instagram page revealed that Knowles had sustained an injury during rehearsals and would not be performing at the weekend’s performances.

It came after the TV star injured his arm and shoulder but was cleared by doctors to continue appearing on the show.
On September 23, two days after the series’ first live show, Knowles said in a video that he was injured while changing a tire.
Later, wearing a sling, he told It Takes Two that he suffered the “painful” injury while on his way to a family party to celebrate his birthday on September 22nd.
