I used this mod because it worked the way it was supposed to and came at a very cheap price.

Installed OEM footwell lighting (not included):
I installed this mod because it worked the way it was supposed to and was available for a very low price ($15). Otherwise, I couldn’t find a great use for footlights. Skoda’s accessories are stupid as usual, powered through the fuse box. It is powered by the BCM, is fully integrated and controllable with the car’s electrical system, and appears as a separate ambient light in the infotainment menu. A very simple mod, but requires accessing the BCM and removing the connector on the BCM in order to insert additional pins.
This is a kit that comes with four LED footwell lamps, a wiring harness with ready-made terminals to connect to the BCM pin and ground.
This pin is connected to BCM.
The front ambient lighting has a slot on the underside of the dashboard. Unfortunately the rear one doesn’t have one, so you’ll have to attach it somewhere or use an additional mount.
The BCM is located near the driver’s footwell, behind the cabin fuse box. It is not necessary to remove the BCM, but removing the plastic trim on the side of the dashboard will allow access from below to the top while attached to the BCM’s three connectors (A73, B46, and C73).
The C73 connector must be removed. When the connector housing is in the accessible position, the footwell light harness terminal pin should be inserted into slot C72, as shown in the image below.
Earth points can be selected as required, electrical integration is complete and lights can be wired to the dashboard, center console or rear seats.
This still doesn’t work. The BCM must be configured to enable this pin C72 as an ambient lighting pin. Once this is done, the light will behave as follows:
Turn it on and off like any other light using a rotary light switch. Soft fade in and out to match the rest of the lights. The intensity of the footwell lights can be adjusted as a separate channel via the infotainment or turned off individually. The footwell lights brighten depending on the brightness. Since the door is open, it is natural that the door will glow when you need to look for something that fell on the floor.
Compared to the stock view, the Ambient Lighting menu has an additional slider.
Here’s a video summarizing the action:
