In case you missed it, fitness star Dennis Austin recently posted another fun and informative workout video on Instagram. Now, the 67-year-old has revealed how she maintains toned abs, demonstrating two core-focused moves perfect for “women over 50.”

The first exercise Austin demonstrates is the standing crunch. To begin the exercise, Austin places his feet together and his hands on his hips. “Stand up and let’s get started,” she says. Next, Austin takes turns bringing his knees closer to his chest while working his abdominal muscles. “It’s very important to maintain strength, keep your back straight, and tighten your abdominal muscles,” she says. “Bringing your knees closer to your chest works your lower abdominal muscles, which we all need.”

The next move builds on the first standing crunch and increases the intensity. Austin begins by extending his elbows outward and moving his hands from his hips to the back of his head, keeping his legs in the same motion. “Now we’re going to add a little crunch to this,” she explains. “Try twisting and crunching.” To do this, Austin simply alternates with each step, bringing his opposite elbow closer to the knee that’s pushing up towards his chest.
