Delta plans to debut a brand new look in its cabin design by the end of 2024.
The US airline has teased a new cabin interior that will be introduced later this year on its B757 aircraft, which will fly domestically and short-haul internationally.
The second aircraft to be retrofitted with the new interior design will be an Airbus A350 in early 2025, Delta said.
Every aspect of Delta’s cabin interior has been redesigned, from new seating materials, enhanced lighting and a refreshed color palette to new decorative motifs and distinctive branding.
“Delta has a strong commitment to weaving intentional design elements into every aspect of a customer’s journey to create a customer experience that feels welcoming and thoughtful,” Mauricio Parise, Delta’s vice president of customer experience design, said in a statement. “We have a 100-year history of doing so,” he said.
“As we embark on the next century of flight, this all-new cabin interior is fresh, elevated and timeless, while injecting practicality and beauty and reflecting our customers’ evolving tastes and expectations. ” Paris added.
The changes to the cabin interior are not just about aesthetics. Delta said the new seats will feature breathable materials, comfortable memory foam cushions on wide-body planes, and relaxing lighting will be installed on all planes.
Mood lighting is provided for every step of the flight, so you feel grounded and well-adjusted to your time zone.
When it comes to its colors and design elements, Delta leans toward a softer, warmer, and more modern color palette, using natural materials like wool and Delta’s original traditional color accents throughout. Delta said the design is fresh, clean and elegant.
Additional aircraft will also feature the new cabin design over the next few years, as Delta’s schedule and operations permit.
“Delta has taken the time to develop every detail of the new interior. The team intentionally created an experience that mimics our customers’ lifestyles and makes them feel at ease as soon as they step on board the aircraft,” Paris said. he added. “We look forward to sharing our efforts with our customers and welcoming them back.”
