It is not only a sacred place for the spiritual, but also a treasure trove of gemstones, incense, jewelry, figurines and ornaments, all carved from crystal, boasting a variety of energies and properties. Some crystals help calm anxiety, while others foster creativity. Well, you get the idea. If you’re looking for crystals, Crystals + Candle might have it. If you’re just curious, they’ll greet you with a warm smile and guide you through the store’s interesting offerings.

But what sets Crystals + Candle apart from other crystal shops is the candle-making experience. After choosing the candle size, each candle maker chooses the scents and their proportions to mix into the candle. It’s a simple process, but one so personal that each candle is almost completely unique to each guest.
After the scent is mixed, apply it to the jewelry, keeping in mind what each crystal will be used for. There is no particular limit to the number of gems you can add, but it is recommended to be careful about having too many gems in a candle. All candles are made on-site, so customers don’t have to wait weeks or forget to return to pick up their items. All candles go home at the end of your visit, but don’t worry, we lit them as soon as we got home.

Christian Velescano, 37, a Broomfield resident and owner of Crystals + Candles, seemed happy about the possibility of couples stopping by for a date night. “Bring your own bottle and enjoy it,” he told The Montclair Girl at last Thursday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony. The young owner and his brother had dreamed of opening Crystals + Candle for years and scoured all over northern New Jersey to find the right location. Initially, they weren’t sure whether Montclair needed another crystal shop, since Essex County already has quite a few metaphysical shops, some of which were near downtown Montclair. . But there was a void in Upper Montclair, and after walking around the space, the brothers realized this was where they wanted to be.
