“I am pleased that the court has dismissed the lawsuit. I am grateful for the court’s dismissal decision and hope to refocus our efforts on the needs of the people of Chandler,” Harris said in a statement.
A Chandler police report details that investigators said “based on available evidence from witness statements, video surveillance, and Harris’ statements” that he may have been involved in vandalizing a political sign in late July. states. Police claimed Harris’ wife stole the sign and Harris served as the getaway driver.
Since the accusations began, Harris has denied any involvement. He told the Arizona family in a statement that he was being targeted by a “rogue group” at the Chandler Police Department and asked city officials to use the authority of his office to launch a formal investigation.
