The melanin splendor continued this week as celebs flocked to Atlanta’s iPic Theater for a special screening of Tyler Perry’s latest project.
On Monday, Netflix hosted a special screening of Beauty in Black, which will be available to stream on Thursday, October 24th.
Series creator, director, writer, and executive producer Tyler Perry introduced the screening, congratulating the cast and crew, and previewing exciting developments in the upcoming 16-episode series.
“This town, this city, this state has been really, really good to me, to us at Tyler Perry Studios, and to the film industry. So I hope you guys watch the first two episodes that are coming up. Thank you for being here.” It will be available on Netflix on October 24th,” Perry said at the screening. “This is me running crazy, right? This is me writing a show where I just wanted to let go and let crazy people live in my head and tell a story. This is about entertainment, this is about suspending ourselves from everyday life and just peeking into the lives of crazy people so we don’t have to face our own shit every day. There are times when you want to take a break. Well, this is a break from that, and I hope it allows me to release everything and fall in love with these characters.”
He also praised series leads Taylor Polydor Williams (Kimmy) and Krystle Stewart (Mallory) and the talented team at Tyler Perry Studios.
“What I want people to know about you is that people like Krystle and Taylor and these incredibly young, beautiful actors come and they give their gifts and their time to you. It’s in your hands, and for someone like me, I know that. I have to respect that, I can’t take advantage of it, I can’t abuse it,” Perry said. said.

On the carpet, the cast gave BOSSIP more details about their characters and shared a potential theme song that sums up Beauty in Black’s story arc.
Taylor Polidore Williams said Kimmy will be taking viewers on a wild ride in the must-see series, with Beyoncé’s “16 Carriages” defining her journey.
“She has a long journey to reach her destination, but she will get there.”
Similarly, Krystle Stewart said her character Mallory should listen to a different Beyoncé song. “Alien Superstar” tied to her superstar status
