BREVARD COUNTY — Ready or not, the new year is upon us, and for some, it’s time to look forward to picking out a 2025 calendar.
The Brevard Humane Society’s “Best Pets of Brevard” 2025 calendar is on sale now for $10 and features an adorable mix of animals that can be seen year-round.
Calendars can be purchased online at www.brevadhumanesociety.org.
The calendar’s cover features two beautiful tabby cats, Lexi and Leo, who are the companion pets of Stacey Leggett of Merritt Island.
Entries were received at the beginning of this year, and after reviewing many photos, a few carefully selected ones were selected. Each month, someone’s lucky pet is highlighted as the main photo, and a few additional pets are placed in small frames at the bottom of the calendar.
“The funds raised through the calendar will not only help the animals on a daily basis, but will also help rebuild the Cocoa Adoption Center,” said Kyle Anderson, media specialist for the Brevard Humane Society. “The facility is very old and it is time for an update.”
Cocoa Campus has been serving Brevard’s animals in need since 1962, but the organization has been around for about 10 years. The rebuild will include improvements to accessibility and space to house adopted animals.
The Brevard Humane Society hopes to begin rebuilding in 2025, Anderson said.
“Calendars are a great boost for fundraising,” he says.
The Brevard Humane Society is gearing up next month for its annual Critter Run, which will be held on Nov. 24. Participants can win prizes and find deals on biker gear.
In September, the Brevard Humane Society rescued 123 pets and adopted out 142. Residents can make a difference in the lives of these animals by attending one of the county’s upcoming adoption events.
