Booking.com’s list of travel predictions for 2025 theorizes that next year will see a trend toward “men-only” travel and vacations. Travel booking platforms expect travelers to ditch the “bro culture” and choose health and self-development.
The report notes that another consideration men may have when it comes to travel is “enhanced vulnerability.” Motivating priorities include relaxation, relief from everyday stress, and building new friendships.
Interestingly, 47% of all travelers and 56% of women say they would encourage a man they know to take a men’s wellness vacation. The number of travelers of both genders increased to 58% for Millennials and 65% for Gen Z.
The source said factors behind the potential rise in men’s wellness retreats include “increased societal awareness of men’s mental health” and the increasing fluidity of gender norms.
Booking.com’s 2025 Travel Forecast sample includes 27,713 respondents from around the world. Participants submitted data in an online survey in July and August of this year. Those who responded said they plan to fly on a jet plane “for business or pleasure within the next 12 to 24 months.”
One of the interesting trends shared in this report was that neuroinclusivity in travel is likely to increase. This change will revolve around creating and launching travel experiences that include “sensitive and atypical needs.”
Another notable predicted trend is child inheritance (SKI). The latter is based on Booking.com’s findings that 46% of people surveyed would rather spend money on a once-in-a-lifetime trip in 2025 than leave a legacy to their children.
“As prevailing norms remain firmly in place in 2024, there will be an increased focus on personal growth and meaningful experiences. From baby boomers taking on thrill-seeking adventures to “From men prioritizing personal well-being, travel is becoming more about self-discovery and deep connections,” Booking.com said. “This research highlights how people seek meaning from their travels and seek a greater sense of purpose at the heart of each trip.”
