Beloved singer-songwriter Billy Marten has delivered a new song, “Crown,” a long-awaited recorded version of a live set staple.
This is Billie’s first release since releasing her fourth album ‘Drop Cherries’ last year, and comes just after a sold-out headline show at London’s Barbican, featuring freeform string group He performed on stage with Her Ensemble. A special orchestral rendition of her back catalogue.
Recorded in New York with Philip Weinrobe (Adrian Lenker, Cass McCombs, Tomberlin), “Crown” is a piece of warm tranquility, with Billie calling it “a song of longing, a song of accepting yourself for who you are.” , a true interlude.” .
Weinrobe said of the song’s production: “We created this song in a split second, elbow to elbow, in a circle, listening delicately to each other’s breathing, singing, and playing. It’s honestly magical. I hope you’re there. I wish I had. I’m grateful that I was able to record it.”
