Before influencers were launching beauty brands all over the place, video vixen-turned-entrepreneur Keisha Ca’oir Davis launched a cosmetics line for those who value unconventional color.
Keyshia founded the famous Ka’oir Cosmetics in 2011 because she needed a blue lipstick that she couldn’t find anywhere. Her idea was born when she mixed blue eyeshadow and clear lip gloss to achieve the perfect look. From there, Ka’oir Cosmetics was born. The signature blue was named Kaowa Dole and began to attract attention for the brand.
Another signature shade was her white lipstick, which was also taboo before she started her company. The lipstick, which is still available in the Virgin color on her website, also became a classic and was one of the lipsticks that helped the model earn $1 million in just six months of business.
Another favorite was the grits stick line. It consists of a lipstick and an included glitter to apply over the lipstick. Keyshia, also known for her gleaming pout, created another bestseller with this innovation.
In the years since, the beauty industry has continued to evolve, and so has Caoir Cosmetics. Since then, Keyshia has introduced a series of products into her company, including Kaoyl Lashes, matte liquid lipsticks, a Glow collection with highlighters and eyeshadows, and Lip Pops. Neon makeup may not be an everyday trend right now, but Keyshia caters to those who prefer a softer appeal while satisfying the day-one audience with bright pigments.
Although she has added fitness and hair companies to her empire, Kaoia Cosmetics holds a special place in the hearts of Keyshia’s fans.
