What happens in “Beauty in Black” Part 1?
Before Beauty in Black was officially released on Netflix, the series was touted to be about two women who lead very different lifestyles and intersect in dramatic ways. That explains the series, but we already know that Beauty in Black is much more than that. As the series begins, it centers on Kimmy, a stripper who is trapped in her lifestyle by her controlling boss Jules. Even if she manages to escape her boss, Kimmy has no support system, no resources, and no allies, leaving her with no choice but to continue undressing in order to chip away at her mountain of financial debt. Her own mother threw her out of the house when she was 17, choosing to side with her predatory boyfriend over her daughter, setting her up for failure.
On the other side of the story is Mallory, a wealthy socialite. Mallory runs a hair care business and struggles to maintain control amidst impending controversy. At first glance, Mallory appears to be a kind, caring, and loving pillar of the community, even offering scholarships to poor women pursuing their dreams of entering the beauty industry. But behind the scenes, Mallory is a cold, emotionless woman who actively works to cover up multiple lawsuits related to the use of carcinogens in relaxation products. On a whim, Kimmy decides to apply for Mallory’s “Beauty in Black Hair Care” scholarship, desperate for a cash injection to save her from her lifestyle, but this doesn’t put them in the same boat.
What connects Mallory and Kimmy?
Despite leading two very different lives, Mallory and Kimmy find their destinies intertwined through a series of surprising connections. First, Kimmy is forced by her boss to sleep with a man named Roy, who is actually Mallory’s husband. Additionally, Kimmy’s boss Jules works as Mallory’s head of security and always calls Kimmy when something terrible happens. When Kimmy decides to call Roy’s wife to inform her of her situation, these issues intertwine into one big quagmire, and Mallory becomes enraged, driving recklessly and hitting a pedestrian. Put it away. In a shocking act of callousness and cruelty, Mallory leaves the body as a corpse on the road and continues driving, while Roy encounters a pedestrian on his way home. Unlike his callous wife, Roy hides the body in the trunk and resolves to bury it.
This collision almost reaches the point of comedic wrongness when the pedestrian manages to wake up and escape from Roy and Mallory, limping to a nearby hospital. From there, we learn that the woman Mallory hit was actually Roy’s aunt, Ina. Ina is checked into a hospital room and placed in a medically induced coma. Roy’s uncle Norman is furious and vows to find the driver who hit his wife and tear them apart, setting the stage for a heated argument between the families. This further exacerbates tensions between Norman and Roy’s father, Horace, which had already been building after a huge argument broke out over co-ownership of the hair care company Beauty in Black.
Norman and Horace’s broken brotherly relationship explained
As we learn throughout the first half of Beauty in Black, Norman and Horace originally started a hair care company before handing over the reins to Mallory. The two, once close and loving brothers, are torn apart by a dispute over money, and end up fighting in court over exclusive ownership of the company. Norman ultimately wins the fight, leaving his brother miserable and bitter. To make matters worse, Norman is openly homophobic and Horace is secretly hiding his own homosexual relationship with a male stripper at Kimmy’s club. This leads to further tension between the brothers, especially as Norman’s wife remains hospitalized.
At a strip club, Horace comes to make a deal with Kimmy, completely unrelated to her blood feud with his brother. Kimmy explains that her friend and fellow stripper is hospitalized with the aftereffects of a botched plastic surgery, and Kimmy is not allowed to see him. In exchange for keeping quiet about Horace’s homosexuality, Kimmy asks him to use her hospital contacts to monitor her friend’s recovery and ensure he receives the best medical care possible. Horace agrees, but Norman becomes increasingly paranoid due to his frequent trips to the hospital, believing that the hit-and-run culprit may have been his brother, who was there to get the job done.
Will Norman’s wife survive?
Throughout the first eight episodes of Beauty in Black, Norman is completely angry and paranoid as his wife falls into a coma in the hospital. All the while, he never doubts that the cause of his suffering is actually his favorite niece. Mallory’s perfect outward image solidifies her as someone who can be trusted to Horace, which is why he allows her to run Beauty in Black in the first place. Still, Norman makes it clear that in order to solve Ina’s hit-and-run, he will literally kill anyone who gets in his way. Meanwhile, Jules, who has business with both Norman and Horace, learns that Mallory was the one who almost killed Norman’s wife and attempts to reconcile the brothers. In the final episode of Part 1, Jules tells Horace that his sister-in-law is making great strides in recovery in hopes of mending fences.
Instead, Horace arranges for a woman on his paycheck to pose as a nurse to sabotage Ina’s recovery and leave her clinically brain-dead in a hospital bed. Enraged, Norman concludes that the hospital is unsafe and tries to have Ina transferred to a place where his brother doesn’t have influence. In a cruel twist of fate, Ina dies on the way to the ambulance en route to the new hospital, her death blamed on Norman and Horace, run by Mallory, and an eerie reflection of Beauty in Black Business. It has become. Needless to say, this sends Norman over the edge, especially after he shoots all the nurses and EMTs in the ambulance, ready to bathe in blood.
All about Norman’s Revenge
After slaughtering the hospital staff, Norman decides to hit his brother where it hurts by killing Horace’s youngest son Charles. Norman has always taken issue with Charles being openly gay, which makes Charles an easy target for Norman’s twisted revenge plans. One night, after Charles has gone wild at a local strip club, his distinctive yellow Lamborghini pulls into the family’s driveway leading up to their expansive property. That was the very road where Ida was run over and left for dead. When the car stops, several armed men appear from a blind spot and fire bullets at the car until it explodes, killing everyone inside.
Most viewers were shocked to see Charles appear to have died a gruesome death, but this was actually a clever twist, as we never fully confirmed that Charles was inside the car. Some speculate that it may be misdirection. In fact, there are several clues to suggest that Charles may have been the target of a robbery, as he was last seen passing out drunk at a strip club, giving out his address to potential hookups. If this is true, it means that the stripper stole the keys, headed to Charles’ house to loot, and ultimately went up in flames at the hands of some unexpected family drama. For now, there’s no way to know the truth until the second half of Beauty in Black finally premieres.
How does “Beauty in Black” Part 1 end?

Although the disintegration of Mallory’s family takes center stage for much of the first part, the real heart of Beauty in Black is the dynamic between hair care extraordinaire and Kimmy. Kimmy spends most of the first season trying to find a way to quit the strip while being targeted by Jules and strip club owner Bodhi. Bodhi hates Kimmy for trying to rally girls for better wages and safer working conditions, and tries everything she can to break her spirit in the first half of the season. Eventually, Bodie decides to hit Kimmy where it really hurts by kidnapping Kimmy’s teenage sister Sylvie. Sylvie adores Kimmy and thinks she works as a nurse rather than a stripper. Enraged by Bodhi’s attack on her family, Kimmy loses her cool and runs him over in the motel parking lot, trapping him between two cars.
In a conversation with Netflix’s Chudom, Tyler Perry explained his intentions with this thrilling development, saying: “I always want people to say, ‘Wait, did you see this? I want people to talk about it around the water cooler and on (social media) and to trend and just love it. ” It’s clear that fans are currently obsessed with Kimmy’s act of revenge, especially since it parallels Mallory’s reckless driving incident at the beginning of the series. The second half of Season 1 of Beauty in Black is still to come, but we don’t know what the consequences of these actions will be.
When will “Beauty in Black” Part 2 premiere?
At this time, the release date for Beauty in Black Part 2 has not been revealed. As fans continue to binge-watch the first half, Netflix will continue to loosen the tension before building anticipation for the next installment. In the same TuDum interview referenced above, Tyler Perry gave a brief glimpse into the future of the series, explaining: That will be shocking to people. It’s like, “Wait a minute, how does she come to power?” ”
If Perry’s hunch is true, the second half of Beauty in Black will see Kimmy not only survive her confrontation with Bodhi, but thrive, and perhaps even take over a strip club. With any luck, the young woman will have the chance to save her sister, escape from the rush of life, and maybe even be reunited with her long-estranged mother. Still, we still don’t know exactly how Kimmy and Mallory will intersect. Depending on the situation, the two could become very powerful allies or hated enemies. For now, we’ll just have to sit back and wait for part 2 to be released.
