Textual description provided by the architect. The site is located at an alley intersection in Hapjeong-dong. Due to these geographical features, all roads connect to this space. The space name “Pivot” means the center of change, and is derived from this concept. In addition to being a geographical center, various visual and spatial changes were achieved through different architectural elements within the space.

This space was originally used as a house built with load-bearing walls, but its role changed with the introduction of steel construction. By preserving the original ceiling and floor, the space naturally bears traces of the past and time. The white-painted steel structure and newly designed walls create a contrast with the existing ceiling and floor, allowing you to feel the change in space. The oak whiskey bar represents the pinnacle of this transformation and stands as a symbol of the space.

The objects scattered throughout the space are designed to have only the minimum shape necessary for their purpose. The free arrangement of the pieces deviates from the unified grid, creating various changes in the landscape depending on the viewing direction. The centrally placed metal object transforms into various shapes thanks to its modular design. These undefined forms can lead to different uses and transformations of space over time.
