DIY Paint and Body at Home: Restore a 1964 Pontiac LeMans without fancy equipment or a crew of elves.
I’ve gotten obsessed with painting my cars at some point, so I often share things like rattle can paint jobs, super cheap paint jobs, etc. here. If I don’t do that, I won’t have the money, so I will learn it myself. I know that I am not alone and that there are many of you who are in the same situation. However, painting technology is not a new interest for me. I remember an article on Hot Rod and Car Craft about building your own paint booth in your garage using plastic sheets, a box fan, and a furnace filter. It was great. In the video below from Pole Barn Garage, their 1964 Le Mans project gets all the color and shine and is done in DIY style.
Don’t get me wrong, he knows what he’s doing when he paints a car, but the reality is this car is in a barn, in a booth-less area, and it wants to touch the paint. There are bugs and they can’t stand it so it’s painted. It happens. But that’s okay, and it’s reality regardless. Check out the video, laugh and enjoy. After seeing this, please let me know if you would like to try painting your own car at home.
