Aurora Culpo isn’t afraid to talk about the highs and lows of co-parenting young children.
Speaking to PEOPLE about her partnership with wellness brand Thorne with her sister Sophia, 27, the Barely Filtered podcast host, 35, discussed how she’s been navigating life as a single parent. I confessed about it. The mother-of-two is conscious of how she and ex-husband Michael ‘Mikey’ Bolton can do more together, and also addressed the recent challenges they’ve faced as co-parents of son Remi, 6, and daughter Soleil, 4. did. .
“There’s always an unspoken retaliation of who’s doing more,” Culpo says. “We can have a good atmosphere of encouraging each other, but sometimes we fall into a pattern of waiting for the other person to mess something up and then say, ‘I got it.’”

She tells people that this behavior is especially unhealthy because it causes feelings of guilt that are often evoked while raising children.
“I think it’s really a balancing act,” Culpo continues. “You always want to do the best job you can, but it’s not a competition… If you’re not careful, you can sometimes get into competitive mode with your co-parents. And that never helps and , it’s not productive.” ”
Culpo’s oldest sister says Thorne’s health supplements help her stay focused and tackle the more personal day-to-day challenges of being a single mother, like making sure everything around the house is taken care of. He said it helps him cope.
“I’m a single mom, so I have a lot of work to do,” she tells PEOPLE. “If I don’t remember something, no one will remember it. I feel the stakes are very high. I need to keep my brain in top shape.”

One of her favorite Thorne products, 5-HTP capsules, helps Culpo keep her “brain sharp and body as energized as possible,” she explains. She takes supplements before bed to increase serotonin, which promotes restful sleep. “It contributes to a healthy and happy brain,” she added.
Culpo and Bolton separated in April 2022, but months before their divorce was officially finalized the following year, she opened up to People about her life as a single mom.
“I’m just trying to take it one day at a time to optimize my health,” she said in May 2023. I just feel stressed and I don’t really know why. There is priceless value in doing what is best for your health and your functioning. ”
