With Election Day just weeks away, Mainer will vote on who will represent him in local, state and national office, along with statewide referendum questions.
To better inform voters, Bangor Daily News political editor Michael Shepherd will take questions about the election next week on the Maine Reddit Forum’s “Ask Me Anything” scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. I plan to answer.
For those unfamiliar with the bulletin board-based social network Reddit, Ask Me Anything (AMA) is an open forum on a specific topic where individuals or groups respond to questions from Reddit users at predetermined times. I will. AMAs have been hosted by everyone from presidents and celebrities to ordinary people with experience in a variety of subjects.
This is the first AMA hosted by BDN and will be held on r/Maine, a Reddit forum with over 100,000 members.
To participate, you must have a Reddit account or sign up for one before questions begin on Monday. Shepherd will begin answering questions Tuesday at 6 p.m.
This forum is about Maine elections, including U.S. House and Senate candidates, state and local legislative and municipal candidates, referendums and ranked-choice voting. It is not about the presidential election or other national issues and cannot answer questions about those topics. Entrants must follow Maine Reddit’s posting rules, which are free of hate speech, misinformation, and spam.
We look forward to your questions and a productive and informative forum.
