DENVER — More than 400,000 ballots have been mailed to registered voters in Denver as both political parties ramp up efforts to get out the vote.
“This is the longest poll in Denver history,” said Mikayla Ortega with the Denver Elections Division.
Democrats and Republicans are asking voters to vote within 20 days of Election Day.
On Saturday afternoon, members of the Colorado Black Caucus and Democratic community leaders gathered in northeast Denver to cast their votes.
“Your voice and your vote matter. You have value,” said District 33 State Sen. James Coleman.

Coleman, a Democrat, emphasized the importance of local voting efforts and down-ballot races, not just the presidential election.
“We are here to encourage the Black community to vote yes or no,” he said.
And Republicans are holding their own rallies.
Valdamar Archuleta, president of the Colorado Log Cabin Republicans, hosted Saturday night’s pub drinking party.
He said it’s time to energize voters, as many feel tired from the 2024 campaign.
“‘If we vote like this, it’s a threat to our democracy. It’s the end of our country.’ A lot of it is just hyperbolic speech. There’s no hope for our city and our country. There are a lot of reasons to have one, so don’t get too political,” Archuleta said.
Due to the large number of voting activities, Ortega called on all voters to submit their ballots early.
“There is no politics on our side. We just want people to be able to use their voice and vote in this election,” Ortega said.
Once ballots are mailed to Denver voters, political parties come together to solicit votes.
