Not all flights are long and boring. A video of Scottish Logan Air’s incredibly short flight (just one and a half minutes) between Westray and Papa Westray in the Orkney Islands has gone viral online.
Flight times are typically around 1 minute and 14 seconds, but in ideal weather flight times can be less than 1 minute. The fastest time ever recorded on this route was 53 seconds, achieved by pilot Stuart Linklater.
For residents, doctors and students, this flight is an important means of transportation between the two islands. Moreover, this place also has a unique attraction for travelers who want to experience the novelty of such a short journey.
However, flight delays may occur due to unpredictable weather. The video mentions that people often joke, “If there were flight attendants, they wouldn’t even finish introducing themselves before the plane landed.”

Reacting to the video, one user wrote: “Stay strong…thank you for flying.” Another user said, “This video took even longer.” A third user commented: “Do I need to arrive at the airport 2 hours early?” A fourth user said: “How do you go to school?” We go to school by plane. ”
The line entered service in 1967 and quickly became known for holding the record for the world’s shortest scheduled service. Flights operate daily in both directions except Saturdays. Linklater, who retired in 2013, completed more than 12,000 flights and still holds the record for fastest flight time.
