Rick is a kind-hearted 8-year-old male Shepherd mix who arrived at HSOV on August 6, 2024 after being picked up on Glendale Road in Marietta, Ohio. This handsome man has a black coat with reddish-brown highlights, a long tail, and a handsome face with dark brown eyes, a long, chubby muzzle, and large erect ears. The Good Samaritan who first discovered Rick reported that this (supposedly) older dog was very friendly and non-aggressive. and reported that he appeared to be hearing impaired. Rick was such a “good boy” when HSOV Kennel Tech’s Lauryn Hamilton accompanied him for an outdoor photo shoot late in the afternoon on August 7, 2024. Rick was close to Lauryn and politely asked for her attention. It was so touching to see him lovingly looking up at Lauryn as she caressed him. And also it was so sad to see him staring at the cars going in and out of our parking lot as if he was wishing for his love. His family had come to pick him up from home. Rick is a fairly stocky boy who weighs 54 pounds. If you have the opportunity to choose him, Rick will be the best dog you will ever have the honor of sharing your life with.
