ALEXANDRIA, VA – Apollo is a 2-year-old male dog who weighs approximately 70 pounds. He is very sociable, friendly and sociable with other people and dogs. He has attended numerous events with us and has always been a well behaved gentleman. We believe he is also house trained. He knows the tricks of sitting and works great on a leash. Thanks to Bayer Subaru, his adoption fee will be waived in October. Bayer will cover the adoption fee for all dogs weighing 40 pounds or more in October.

Alexandria Animal Academy courses are designed to teach pets and humans how to better coexist. Choose from three different learning tracks: Confidence Building, Chill Out, and Leash Responsiveness. The course is eight weeks long and includes virtual coaching and customized instruction from Beth Tumlin, our staff behavior and training coordinator. All information can be found here. Registration is open until October 15th. The course starts on Sunday 20th October.
AWLA is located at 4101 Eisenhower Avenue. Founded in 1946, AWLA has supported and served as a resource for homeless animals. The organization continues to be an integral part of the community by providing adoption, spay/neuter assistance, education, and advocacy opportunities.
