At a time when traveling to exotic spots overseas is unthinkable for many people, caravanning is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle, and the bonus is you get to explore your own large backyard.
As any caravan owner will tell you, there are some unavoidable annoyances that can take the fun out of jumping into your home on wheels and seeing where the wind takes you. Is there such a thing as a nuisance? I hear a clicking noise inside the refrigerator while driving!
Imagine trying to concentrate and not get lost in the middle of nowhere while the sound of ghostly wind chimes echoes inside your car. no thanks.
Solutions to annoying caravan problems
Luckily, savvy shoppers at Kmart have found a great solution that costs just $1.75. Fellow caravan enthusiasts want to jump on it too.

They shared a photo of the retailer’s giant ice tray to the Popular Caravanning Facebook group, writing: “Kmart’s giant ice tray is the best way to keep small bottles from bumping around in your fridge.” .

“Oh, that’s a great idea,” someone replied to the post, while several others called it “genius” and “very clever.”
More ice tray hacks
Others joined in and shared their own ice tray hacks. Apparently, these villains are a caravanner’s dream.

One person added: “I use it for spice jars.”
“It’s also great for eggs,” says another suggested use.
“I also use mine to freeze tomato paste or pizza sauce after opening a large jar. I think it holds about 1-2 tablespoons,” added a third.
Content creator Caroline, aka “The Delightful Cook,” also praised the ice tray, which she called “unbreakable,” and said it was perfect for freezing things like stock, fruit, garlic, and butter.
On Kmart’s website, the silicone tray has a near-perfect score, with more than 100 customers giving the product five stars.
One happy shopper wrote: “This is amazing! Perfect for caravanning, the ice cubes last a long time and fit perfectly in the freezer. Would recommend.”
“I love cubes for my wine, they last a long time and the container fits in the caravan’s freezer, so this size is just what I need for my caravan,” said another.
Other Kmart products for caravans
This isn’t the first time Kmart has solved a major caravan-related problem. Recently, a fan of the retail chain shared that she bought a $5 yoga mat from Kmart to line the cupboards, shelves, and drawers of her van as the perfect anti-slip for her belongings.

“I put yoga mats in every cupboard. Game changer! I decorated every drawer and cupboard with new SLOBs,” she wrote.
She added in her comment that she rolled out the mat in the sun to flatten it before cutting it with a Stanley knife and scissors.

Many people received comments praising this “great idea” and quite a few said it was “better than other non-slip mats” as it is easy to maintain and stays in place when taking things out of cupboards. ‘
