On September 22nd, The Art of Saving Sea Turtles hosted an afternoon of philanthropy hosted by the Turtle Island Restoration Network.
The elegant afternoon event spotlighted the organization’s ongoing conservation efforts and showcased the incredible support from the Galveston community.
In its third year, The Art of Saving Sea Turtles recognized the tireless efforts of the Turtle Island Restoration Network and its supporters in promoting, implementing and contributing to local sea turtle conservation.
These organizations strive to raise awareness and make significant contributions toward improving and protecting Texas’ oceans, beaches, and wildlife.
The sold-out event was held at the Bryan Museum, where guests enjoyed dinner and a silent auction.
Ann Anderson was awarded the 2024 Tide Volunteer of the Year. Anderson collects and recycles fishing line at two piers in the Gulf of Mexico, has volunteered with the Sea Turtle Nest Patrol for more than 10 years, and picks up trash at numerous cleanup events throughout the year in Galveston. Masu.
Sandra Sullivan was also recognized as the first-ever volunteer in May 2013.
