PARIS – Beauty products retailer Americus has acquired Skyn Iceland, a vegan and cruelty-free natural skincare brand, from a group of French and Swiss investors.
Financial terms of the deal, which was concluded through Americus’ new investment arm, were not disclosed.
Americus will provide Skyn Iceland with its expertise in distribution and brand promotion.
“This new chapter in Skyn Iceland’s development will see the brand return to its original positioning of Nordic beauty,” Americas and Skyn Iceland said in a joint statement.
Sarah Kugelman founded the brand best known for HydraCool Firming Eye Gel and Microneedle Eye Patches 17 years ago. Skyn Iceland products, as the name suggests, include fruits, botanicals and mineral water from Iceland.
In June 2022, entrepreneur Antoine de Larocque, with the support of investor Jacques Veira, acquired Skyn Iceland from Frederic Boulet through Veira’s holding company Impala. Thereafter, Boulet remained a core shareholder and Kugelman served as a consultant. At the time, the brand was generating $10 million annually.

Americus is included in the 2024 Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing U.S. companies.
