groovy ghost halloween costume
Becky Stayner
This is one of those ingenious costumes that doesn’t require much hand-crafting, but does require the help of a friend.
How to make it: Cover your head with a vintage floral sheet. Once the corners are in the correct position, have a friend very carefully mark the eye positions with a sharpie. Cut out the eye holes using sharp scissors. Wear it with comfortable sneakers. That’s it!

field day teen halloween costume
Everyone loves a sports day, so this is a fun costume that’s comfortable and easy to wear. For a group Halloween costume, choose a color palette (primary colors are the rule here) and layer with sweat pants, athletic shirts, and sweat bands for a glamorous field day look. Props like rackets and trophies bring the nostalgic theme to life. Pets can also have fun wearing referee costumes.

LUVSHINE chicken costume
This silly inflatable costume will put you at the top of the pecking order at this year’s Halloween party.
It’s been 20 years since the hit musical premiered, but the costume is making a comeback this year thanks to a new movie starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Of course, Glinda makes for a beautiful costume, but we love Elphaba in shades of green. Be sure to get lots of green face paint!

paper doll teen halloween costume
We’re obsessed with these paper dolls as a Halloween costume idea for the trio.
To make it, trace the outline of the dress, shirt, and skirt onto the cardboard. (This is easily done with boys’ shorts.) Cut out the base of the “costume”. Attach the fabric to the cut out cardboard using hot glue or spray adhesive. Once dry, cut the fabric as close to the edge of the cardboard as possible. Add buttons, zippers, and other fun accessories to your costume using a hot glue gun.
Glue the ribbon in a U shape around your shoulders and hang it around your neck. If using two separate parts of the costume, also glue the ribbon around the top edge of the bottom half. You can hide them or leave them to look like a belt (we did both). Tie these at the back. Hot glue the doll’s tabs to the diagonal edges of the costume. Wear a close-fitting dress in a color close to your skin and tie it up.
