Tina Knowles is sharing parenting tips after raising music stars Beyoncé and Solange. On Tuesday (October 8), Knowles shared her parenting knowledge at Glamor magazine’s Woman of the Year Awards held at Times Square Edition in New York City. Knowles was honored with the award along with other mothers who have raised stars of this generation.
When it comes to parenting, Knowles believes that “you get what you put in.”

“I think the teenage years are the hardest, but it gets better and your hard work pays off,” she told PEOPLE on the Glamor red carpet. “That’s what I truly believe: The more you love your children, the more love, care and support you can give them, and the more you will achieve.”
Bey and former Destiny’s Child groupmate Kelly Rowland attended Tuesday’s event to support Knowles.
While accepting the honor, Knowles also gave further insight into her life as a mother.
“I’ve been very blessed to do many things in my life. I’ve had many careers, but I’ve always said that the best job I’ve ever had is being a mother. ”Knowles said. “I have had the privilege of raising and helping to raise four daughters. Two were born to me and two were gifts from God. I was a young adult and didn’t always follow the rules, but the day I became a mother I decided this was one thing I couldn’t fail at.
On Tuesday, Travis Kelsey’s mother Donna Kelsey, 71, Billie Elish’s mother Maggie Baird, 65, and Selena Gomez’s mother Mandy Teefey, 48, were also featured in Glamor magazine’s Woman.・Received the award of the year.
