The BBC’s popular show DIY SOS is returning to Swansea once again! And once again, it’s going to need your help. The show, which helps families transform their homes with the help of Nick Knowles and his team of experts, has already visited Swansea three times, leaving residents in awe each time. did.
The DIY SOS team is seeking support from local tradespeople, volunteers, contractors and suppliers who wish to take part from Wednesday 27th November to Wednesday 4th December 2024. The team is seeking support in the form of skills and materials.

DIY SOS first came to Swansea in 2014. That’s when DIY SOS transformed the home and life of Jack Morris, who had a rare form of muscular dystrophy that affected his motor skills and made it difficult for him to get around the house. In July of that year, Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team visited Jack’s home and transformed his home with the help of countless volunteer contractors and community members. In 2017, the show helped transform a derelict site in Swansea into a haven for children leaving childcare. The project was the team’s largest construction undertaking to date, and 800 volunteers worked together to complete it in just 11 days. This building served as the Roots Foundation Wales and replaced a previous facility called ‘The Hut’ which was aging and falling into disrepair.

In 2020, DIY SOS helped charity Surfability build a new base in Swansea. A new building has given a major boost to Britain’s first fully inclusive surfing school, which helps people with disabilities catch waves.
