We are pleased to announce that, effective January 1, 2025, Greg Harabadze, MHA, FACHE, has been appointed Senior Associate Dean and Chief Operating and Financial Officer of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, effective January 1, 2025. I’m happy to announce this. Mr. Karavadze was selected from a highly qualified pool of candidates. In a comprehensive national survey. He will report directly to me as dean.
Mr. Kharabadze will lead the Keck School’s operations and finance departments and execute on its vision of a collaborative, efficient, effective, and data-driven service organization. He will serve as a key partner and advisor to the Keck School’s leadership, advancing the school’s mission, goals, and strategy. He will work closely with the Keck Department of Medical Leadership at the University of Southern California, University Central Administration, Los Angeles General Medical Center, and other stakeholders as we advance our status as a distinguished academic health system. His areas of oversight include budget and finance. Emergency preparedness and safety. Human resources; information services; marketing and communication. Research management. Space and equipment planning.
Mr. Kharabadze has a distinguished career in academic medical management, with expertise in strategic planning, operational excellence, and financial management. He currently serves as Executive Director of Business Administration and Strategic Initiatives at Yale School of Medicine. In this role, he leads a team of senior clinical directors and financial management directors to drive initiatives and infrastructure to provide excellent clinical care, research, and education. His leadership at Yale has strengthened faculty and administrator collaboration, optimized resources, and introduced funding flow methodologies to align clinical and academic operations. His leadership approach aims to inspire teams and drive organizational growth.
Previously, Mr. Karavadze held leadership roles at UC San Diego Health and Cleveland Clinic, where he led operational and financial programs, expansion of clinical services, and improvements in patient care delivery and operations. He holds a Master of Health Administration degree and a Master of Economics degree from the University of Missouri and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
