Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Chinese embassy in Islamabad on Monday to express condolences over the death of two Chinese nationals in a bomb attack near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.
During the meeting, Naqvi expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and assured the Pakistani ambassador of solidarity with the Chinese government and people. He also provided a detailed account of the progress of the case and the ongoing investigation.
“At this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with the Chinese government and the bereaved families,” Naqvi said, stressing that the entire Pakistani nation shares the grief of our Chinese compatriots.
He vowed a comprehensive investigation and promised those responsible for the heinous attack would be brought to justice. Naqvi termed the incident a dastardly conspiracy and an unacceptable attempt to undermine the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and China.
He reiterated that such actions will not succeed and asserted that the safety of Chinese nationals working for Pakistan’s development remains the top priority. “This is not just an attack on the Chinese people, this is an attack on Pakistan itself,” Naqvi declared, pledging a strong response against the perpetrators.
China is conducting a thorough investigation after an attack on a convoy carrying employees of the Port Qassim Power Company on Sunday night killed two people and injured several others, including a third Chinese national. I’m looking for it.
The Chinese embassy in Pakistan condemned the attack and expressed deep condolences to the victims, while the two countries are coordinating efforts to deal with the aftermath of the tragedy.
