After the video received backlash, the mother shared a follow-up post explaining that she and her son have been on about four or five dates. During her outing, she plans to share “tidbits” to teach him how to be “more generous, kind, thoughtful, and aware.”
The mother also acknowledged that some people have a problem with the word “dating.” While she doesn’t personally find the word strange, she understands why it might be “irritating” to some people.
But for women who are currently dating men, she explained that dating men is “terrible.” “I’m 31 years old, but I’m single for a reason,” she said. “Because I couldn’t find a gentleman like this wonderful man.”
“There are a lot of women who are fed up,” she continued. “Women are tired of being treated by men” because they “want to feel respected and safe.”
That’s why she’s focused on raising her son to respect women. “My overall goal with that practice is to raise my son to be a respectful, secure, thoughtful, creative, and accepting human being who respects women,” she wrote in the caption. He added: Who will teach our sons how to treat women?!”
